My Path to Personal Freedom

I have not always had personal freedom and control over my own life.

In fact, just a few years ago I remember frequently calling my mom about all the things that were going wrong in my life.

From a devastating heartbreak, working in a toxic soul-sucking environment, drowning in a mountain of debt, struggling to pay even the basic necessities, and moving to a new city a thousand miles away from home, it felt like the sky was falling.

Life after college was so much different from what I imagined it would be. With the years spent “preparing” in school, I thought I was ready to take on the world. Truth be told, I was hardly ready at all.

I began to question myself and really struggled with what I considered to be my true identity. I had no work-life balance, high stress, and no financial independence. I was also unhealthy and dissatisfied with where I was in life.

I entered the rat race without even knowing it since it has become so “normalized” in today’s society. It got to the point that I was just going through the motions of life on autopilot. I didn’t feel like there was a light at the end of the tunnel and that I had hit ultimate rock bottom.

In my gut, I knew that there had to be more to life and that I needed to change. I hated the thought of wasting my life away and feared never discovering my full potential.

With an intense desire for change and to live a happy and healthy life, I committed to creating a new life for myself.

Several mornings were spent reading articles and books. As I prepared for work, meal prepped, and drove around, I listened to various podcasts and audiobooks.

Every minute I had was spent consumed in learning.

I researched anything and everything from finding happiness, effective daily routines, meditation, exercise, the importance of community, decluttering, organization, self-care, healthy food recipes, relationships, motivation, etc.

Little did I know, at the age of 24, I was slowly changing the outcome of my life.

Fast forward to the present, I have learned to take control of my life, become financially free from debt in 4 years, and liberated myself from the rat race.

I truly believe that “nothing is impossible, only you have the power to sculpt yourself into what you want to become.”

My journey has not always been simple or easy, but I have learned to embrace change and welcome challenges. Now, I move together with all the ups and downs to build the life that I have envisioned.

As I continue to define who I truly want to be and what I want for my life, I strive towards bringing my intentions to life.

The more I understand my strengths and discover my passion, I know my purpose is to be of service to others. This is the primary purpose of HowdyAce.
